My Winter Fashion Wishlist!

This is coming out slightly late, but the winter season isn't over yet! With the changes of the season, changes in fashion must also be made. Time to trade in the short skirts, shorts, tank tops, and sundresses in favor of things like coats, scarves, sweaters, boots, and so on! ^.^ So, here are some of the things that I've been eyeing up this winter:

1. A Faux Fur Stole

Because real fur isn't cool, yo! :P But in all seriousness, I've always thought this single piece can add some glamour to an outfit!

2. Lace tights

Cute, feminine, and adds something a little extra to an ensemble without being too distracting and over the top. ^_^

3. Newsboy cap

Just because... I've really been wanting one for a little while now. I've always loved this style of cap. It's simple and cute, and hats are really just perfect for this time of year.

4.  A cute trench coat

As most people know, a coat is absolutely essential in cold weather, and since I've never been a fan of  bulky, fluffy jackets, a sleek and stylish trench coat is the way to go for me!

5.  Boots

No, boots in the winter time is nothing ground breaking or unique, but I just never seem to have enough pairs of cute boots! x3 My wishlist just wouldn't be complete without boots on there!

6.  Long satin gloves

Satin gloves can look so classy when you're all decked out to go to a formal event, and they can also be quite functional by keeping your hands and arms warm! It's a win-win! ^.^

7. Knit scarf

Again, nothing earth-shattering, but I know I can really use a nice, knit scarf. Almost every winter, I complain about freezing to death, so it's time for me to do something about it! Plus, scarves can make for nice accessories, as well.

8. Knit leg warmers

Some people love them, and some people hate them.... I'm one of the ones that love them! It's one of the few trends from the 80's that I actually really like! They also come in so many adorable styles lately, so I really want a pair or two!

9. Ear Muffs

I've always wanted some similar to the ones in this picture! Ear muffs are again both cute and functional, and look great being worn properly or around your neck. x3

10. Hand muffler

An adorably stylish way to keep your hands from stinging and becoming icicles when you're out and about! Not to mention, they're really cozy, too!

And that's all, folks! ^_^

Are You Out of Your Mind?!

Clearly, there is a problem when I can no longer tell the difference between clothes for women and clothes for little girls. The line has become so blurred now what with 3 inch heels, mini skirts, short-shorts, string bikinis, and shirts baring midriffs made for kids being sold in stores and online. What's worse is that these things are actually being bought by parents!  You'd think you'd only see this stuff on that awful show Toddlers and Tiaras, but no, sadly that isn't the case. Why, just a couple of days ago while at the mall I saw a group of what looked to be 10-11 year old girls with their mother wearing shorts that barely covered their bottoms paired with belly exposing shirts with phrases like "OMG" and "Diva" printed across them. It really is unacceptable and I can't even begin to fathom what is going on in the heads of these parents who can't seem to distinguish what is and what isn't age appropriate for their young girls. How can they let their children even walk out of the house while looking that way? This is is really getting to be too much!

Someone explain to me how this is okay:

If you're wondering, YES this is a child wearing these shoes.

Or this....

I can go on and keep showing everyone examples of inappropriate attire that I've come across, but I'll stop here. What's even more disturbing is that these aren't even the worst of the clothes being sold on the market.
Please... If you have a child and let them wear stuff like this, you need to STEP UP AND START BEING A PARENT AND START CARING MORE ABOUT YOUR CHILD'S SAFETY!!!! (and for goodness sake, do NOT use the tired "it's the only thing I can find in stores for them!" excuse... that just means you aren't looking hard enough) You're really putting them in danger and also, no one wants to see your kid flaunting things that they don't even have.

Style Obsession: Roses

I've been so drawn to just about anything with roses lately! After I had received my satin rose brooch as a gift for my birthday, I've been wanting more rose accessories and such. I didn't realize this much until I was looking for a charm bracelet so I could check it off of my Spring-Summer Fashion Wishlist (which also includes a rose ring and rose hair clips in it), and had come across this lovely little gem on etsy (love that site for accessories!):

Can be found here

Not only that, but while looking at chokers, all the ones that got my attention were ones with roses on them. Go figure. :P

This reminds me a bit of the choker Agnes wears in Barajou no Kiss! xD

Rose choker with metal charms

Then there's this dress I found from Forever21.....

This dress paired with my crochet shrug and a brown belt would look so cute!

AND these shoes

These Are sooo cute!

There is a definite and obvious theme here.....

Crazy About...Socks?

Lately, I've been really into socks. Not gym socks or ankle socks or anything like that, but thigh high socks. ^.^ I've been wanting some so badly and they seem to be in everywhere right now! They come in such unique and interesting designs! x3 I have my eye on a few pairs that I found at sockdreams.com and socktheory.com at the moment.... Here are my favorite ones that I saw:

I think that these would be so much fun to wear! I have a feeling my hubby wouldn't mind seeing them on me, either. ;) Lols! Something about thigh high socks are really sexy, or so I've been told. Some of my male friends had said so before, but they didn't really explain why they thought so. :P To me, they're more like cute accessories that can make an outfit stand out. What's your opinion on them?

I Really Want To Smack Pageant Moms.....

Dads too. I know that that is a really awful thing to say, but it's true! I wouldn't be so mad if pageant parents didn't take it so far... I mean, it's fine to have your child participate in  one or two here or there, as long as the children don't have to have 50 pounds of makeup on their faces, fake tans, fake teeth, and hair that's twice the size of their head. Don't even get me started on the atrocious (and often too provocative) outfits they dress them in, either. -_-; I feel that if they are going to enter their child in a pageant, they should have them look like children, and not like miniature adults. It's seriously disturbing.

Another thing I find to be wrong about these types of pageants is that they are conveying the wrong message to these kids. It seems as if they're trying to say that in order to be beautiful, you need to look a certain type of way and that if you have to drastically change your features by artificial means in order to fit that image, do it. It really is heartbreaking that some of these little girls are saying that without all of their pageant makeup, clothes, and wigs, they don't feel beautiful. Can't the parents see what kind of damage they are doing? There daughters already are starting to have warped views on how they think they should look.

Not only that, but it also is teaching these children to value looks above all else. I remember watching these young girls fixated on their reflections in the mirror and sassing their mothers and fathers in the Toddlers and Tiaras commercials on TLC, and I was appalled that their parents had done NOTHING about their child's behavior. I know that when I was a little girl, I would not be able to get away with that attitude. My mother had always taught me that while looking good may be nice, it is much better to have a beautiful heart and to be kind and respectful. I didn't see many (if any at all) of those pageant parents teaching their kids that. And they wonder why their kids don't listen to them or why they act  like stuck-up divas... It's really unbelievable.

Above all else, I wish that they would just let their kids be kids. You know, let them run around and play in dirt.... They shouldn't have to worry about getting messy or ruining their hair or losing weight to fit in their stage clothing. I feel really bad for them, since it seems like their childhood is being taken away from them... It's unfortunate....

Liquid eyeliner vs. Gel Liner

First off, I will say that this comparison between the two different eyeliners is solely based on my own opinion and which I feel had worked best for me. :) I'm not saying that one is ultimately better than the other or anything of the sort. Now with that out of the way, lets start! ^_^

I've always been someone who has struggled with using liquid liner. I could never quite use the brush correctly, and every time I tried using it, it just landed up looking like a complete disaster. Eventually, I just had given up using it altogether and stuck with crayon liners, even though I didn't like using those much either, since the ones I've used never really stayed in place and always smudged and smeared on me. Even so, they were easy for me to use. Then, I discovered pen liquid liners, and I became enthusiastic about that and purchased the Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner Pen!

I loved it as soon as I tried it. It was just as easy as using a crayon liner AND it had the kind of staying power that I had been wanting. The lines also came out smooth, crisp, and bold; the way I always try to make my liner look as much as possible. It also made it easier for me to reach closer to the inner corner of my eyes, which I usually can't get to without messing up and smearing the liner onto my lid. I was extremely happy with it. ^_^ The only thing was that after awhile, I noticed that the pen had a tendency to dry out quickly, so I had to work fast. I also didn't quite like that I couldn't see how much product I had or how much was remaining. I like knowing how much I have to work with so I can easily tell when it's time to get more before I completely run out of it (I seriously do not like having a deficiency of eyeliner... I'm a bit of a freak with it and MUST have a good supply of it around).

I landed up using the last bit of my Dolly Wink liner yesterday (or at least I think so...? It at least had enough in it to where I was able to do both eyes and complete my makeup), and so I went out to shop for more eyeliner. While they don't carry the Dolly Wink brand at any of the stores in my area, they did have other brands of liquid eyeliner pens in stock. Instead of picking up another liquid liner pen though, I decided to go with the Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Liner.

At first, I was a little intimidated by the brush, since it just reminded me of how badly I failed with the liquid liner brushes in the past. I was also kind of disappointed in seeing how small the container of eyeliner was. To my surprise, the application was really simple, as it just glided right on and didn't tug at my lids at all, and  only a small amount of product was used to complete both eyes! The brush was also small enough to get closer to the inner corner of my eyes too, so there was no hassle with it, just like the liquid eyeliner pen. Another thing that I liked about it was that it literally only took me seconds to finish applying it to both eyes due to how easy the application was, which I'm not really used to since I'm very OCD with the way my eyeliner turns out. I had no problem making thick lines or thin lines. It really cut down my primping time tremendously! I'm also happy that it also still is pretty bold just like the liquid liner, and it still hasn't smudged on me even though it's been hours since I did my makeup, though it may have helped that I set it with a little bit of black eye shadow. So far, there are no cons about this product that I can come up with.

For me, it's definitely clear that the winner here is gel liner! I've become an instant fan of it. ^_^

YAY!!!!

The new pink Hello Kitty glasses that I ordered came in today! I was so surprised that they arrived here so quickly! They look so much nicer than I expected them to~! :D And I think they personally look really cute on, too, which I'm glad about because I wasn't quite sure how they would look on me. xD

I had to model them right away. xD I love them a bunch! My husband thinks they're really cute on me too~! <3 I'm so glad that I can wear something like these glasses and he doesn't get embarrassed over it. It makes me happy that he likes my sense of style as much as I do! :3

Super Cute~

I've been shopping around for some cute, fashionable glasses, and have come across these:

Hello Kitty frames! x3 This is the first time I've come across them, so I don't know if these are old news or not, but I don't care! ^.^ I found them here on Etsy. In the link, the description says that they only have the black ones in stock, which made me a little sad since I want the pink pair... with a little searching though, I found the pair I wanted on ebay! They seem to carry all of the colors there, and not only that, but they are also being sold cheaper than the ones on etsy! x3 It's quite a steal, so I'm extremely happy to have come across them!!! xD  I couldn't resist, so I had to buy them~!

Other really cute ones I saw were these (which can be found here)
Pandas! x3 *squeals*

And these! (you can purchase them here)
These come in different colors and can be found on the same site in the link!

Unfortunately, I couldn't find the other two pairs of glasses anywhere else, so even though I like those two very much, I can't get them at the time being. :( Hopefully they'll still be around sometime later!
