Are You Out of Your Mind?!

Clearly, there is a problem when I can no longer tell the difference between clothes for women and clothes for little girls. The line has become so blurred now what with 3 inch heels, mini skirts, short-shorts, string bikinis, and shirts baring midriffs made for kids being sold in stores and online. What's worse is that these things are actually being bought by parents!  You'd think you'd only see this stuff on that awful show Toddlers and Tiaras, but no, sadly that isn't the case. Why, just a couple of days ago while at the mall I saw a group of what looked to be 10-11 year old girls with their mother wearing shorts that barely covered their bottoms paired with belly exposing shirts with phrases like "OMG" and "Diva" printed across them. It really is unacceptable and I can't even begin to fathom what is going on in the heads of these parents who can't seem to distinguish what is and what isn't age appropriate for their young girls. How can they let their children even walk out of the house while looking that way? This is is really getting to be too much!

Someone explain to me how this is okay:

If you're wondering, YES this is a child wearing these shoes.

Or this....

I can go on and keep showing everyone examples of inappropriate attire that I've come across, but I'll stop here. What's even more disturbing is that these aren't even the worst of the clothes being sold on the market.
Please... If you have a child and let them wear stuff like this, you need to STEP UP AND START BEING A PARENT AND START CARING MORE ABOUT YOUR CHILD'S SAFETY!!!! (and for goodness sake, do NOT use the tired "it's the only thing I can find in stores for them!" excuse... that just means you aren't looking hard enough) You're really putting them in danger and also, no one wants to see your kid flaunting things that they don't even have.

Hair Color Dilemma

After all these years of dying my hair burgundy, I've recently been thinking about dying my hair a different color. The issue I've been having is deciding exactly which direction to go with it. >.< What I know already is that I can't go too dark (I have naturally black hair, and all it did was wash me out) and I don't think I can pull off any shade of blonde. Honestly, I don't even want to go that route (not that there's anything wrong with blondes!). I also really want something that is kind of fun yet not too bold, so it won't clash with my style, if there is such a color other than burgundy (that just makes me wonder if I should just stick with it...? Or maybe I should just give in and go with either an unnatural color or a more natural color... I have no idea...).

As you can probably tell, I'm quite confused. Lols! Because of that, I've been doing my research on possible ways I can find out what colors would look good on me, and which I should steer clear of. Here are some tips and facts that I have learned so far from other sites that I thought might be good to share with everyone who might be having the same problem as I am (I hope it helps!):

* If you're dying your hair at home, don't go more than 2 shades lighter or darker than your natural hair color.

* Determine whether you are either a warm, cool, or neutral skin tone - you can do so by trying out these tests:

The Jewelry Test

- Warm skin tone: gold jewelry looks best on you
- Cool skin tone: silver jewelry looks best on you
- Neutral skin tone: both gold and silver jewelry look equally good on you

(Note: be sure to get unbiased opinions on this to help you determine which is true for you)

The Vein Test

Look at the veins in your arms.... Are they blue or are they more green? If they're blue, then you might be a cool skin tone. If they're green, you may be more on the warm side. However, keep in mind that this isn't always 100% accurate.

The White Cloth Test

Pull your hair away from your face and place a white towel around your neck and shoulders. If your skin reflects a more yellow shade, you're warm; if your skin looks more blue, you're cool.

* Keep in mind that if you are of Asian descent, you don't automatically fall into the olive category! You can find out more about this in here! This will also help you see that there are many different types of overtone and undertone combinations and that there's always exceptions!

* Once you figure out what your skin tone is, you may start looking up shades that will compliment it!
Remember, warm skin tones look best with warm hair colors, cool skin tones look best with cool colors, and neutral skin tones can pull off both!

(cooler colors have blue, green, purple, black and grey tones in them, and warmer colors have red, yellow, orange, and brown tones in them)

* Consult your hairstylist! Chances are, they can help you find a shade that will work for you.

* If you're a little more brave, then experiment with colors. Sometimes the best way to find out whether or not something works for you is by trying things out for yourself. Be sure to take proper care of your hair though and don't overdo the coloring as to not damage it!

Hopefully this proves to be useful! Lols! I know I've learned quite a bit looking up information on this. I think with the information I've found, I have more of an idea on which colors will work for me, though I still haven't decided on an exact shade just yet. ^^; Wish me luck on my hair journey, and good luck to those of you who are searching for their own perfect shades! ^_^

Kayaking and Hello Kitty!

Today I spent the day out with my husband and father-in-law, and we landed up going kayaking! It was the first time I've ever went, and at first I wasn't enjoying it too much. My husband and I didn't go far out enough in the water when we first tried going in the kayak, and a wave managed to pick us up and flip the boat over, and we fell straight into the water. We paddled on though (pun definitely intended) with our clothes soaking wet. We had a little difficulty trying to figure out how to row the kayak together (we thought we had to row opposite from each other, but that wasn't very effective) but once we figured it out, it was actually really awesome! We got to see seals and otters up really close! A lot of the otters had pups on them! It was soooo cute! It was a shame that we left the cell phone behind... I really wish that we had a waterproof camera so I could have taken a picture of them.... :(

Oh! And on a completely random note, we bought Hello Kitty bandaids awhile back, and we finally opened them! My husband accidentally cut himself while opening something, and I ran to the medicine cabinet and grabbed the box right away. ^.^ As weird as this may sound, I was extremely happy to actually get use out of them. xD

It's funny, because my husband said he would NEVER use these bandaids, but there it is stuck on his hand. ^.^ He wasn't very thrilled about it though. xD Either way, I think it looks sweet on him. Pink really looks good on him! Lols!

Excited For 2 Games Coming Out!

There are plenty of pretty awesome games that have come out  and will be coming up this year, such as Lollipop Chainsaw (which I think might be interesting to try out), Tomb Raider, Dead or Alive 5, etc.... But really, there are two games that I am really really looking forward to and definitely want: Persona 4 Arena and Animal Crossing 3DS.

For the past couple of years or so, I discovered the Persona series for the first time and instantly loved it! I loved the characters, the stories, and I really liked the social link system that was added in the 3rd and 4th installments of the game. When I found out about Persona 4 Arena was coming out, I literally screamed like a fangirl! Watching the teasers and trailers for it, I couldn't help it~! The whole game just looks beautiful, the characters maintain their anime profile images, but look more sharp, and their movements and attacks look so smooth and fluid! You can really tell that Arc System (makers of Guilty Gear, one of my most favorite fighting games!) was behind the animation of this game (For those of you who don't know, Atlus and Arc System teamed up to make P4 Arena). Another thing I really like about this game is that your choices aren't just limited to the P4 characters; they have included characters from P3 and other games (I think... Some of the characters I'm not too familiar with) as well! Each character has a combination of regular attacks and attacks using their personas, as well as a special. Another nice touch is that they implemented the use of status ailments! How cool is that? In my opinion, this game seems to be very promising!

Yes, Animal Crossing may not be the most exciting or most action packed game around, but I've been a fan ever since it has been released for the Gamecube and have bought every single other Animal Crossing that has come out since then. I've always loved the charming and slow paced nature of it, the quirky animals, and being able to expand your house and decorate it any way you'd like. All of the AC games have pretty much kept the same formula, only adding a few new aspects to each new game... that is, up until now. Not only are you now able to do things such as swim and sit on tree stumps and benches (and I'm sure there's other things that have been changed too), but this time around, instead of mainly focusing on paying off all of your house debt to Tom Nook (and possibly getting the highest score possible from the HRA), you will now get to be the mayor of your town! With this new objective, I'm really interested in how this game turns out and if it really will have a noticeable difference in game play compared to the previous AC games. Can't wait to find out!

I'll be keeping an eye out for both of these! Persona 4 Arena is scheduled to be released on August 7th, and Animal Crossing 3DS is still to be announced. Hopefully I won't have to wait too long! Lols!

Such a Sweetie!

This whole week, my husband has been in Illinois to do some training for his new job in the army! He's been doing all of this just so we can both go to Japan together. ^_^ Today has been his last day with the training and he passed his tests with flying colors! I'm so proud of him~! x3 I'm also soooo glad that he's returning home to me tomorrow! I miss him, and I know he misses me very much, too. He even sent me a cute little picture/message that he drew himself! (shown up above) I really adore it. <3 It just goes to show you that even the little things can be really precious and can make you smile all day!  So don't take even the simplest things for granted!!!

SHENANIGANS!!!!!

I am so very disappointed.... I feel as if my soul has been desecrated and thrown into eternal darkness....Why? Because of Toonami... I loved Toonami back in the day... It had great shows and lots of kid-friendly anime (or at the very least, cleaned up versions of certain series) such as Dragon Ball, DBZ, Cardcaptors, Hamtaro, Rurouni Kenshin, Yuyu Hakusho, and much more. I even remember waking up early in the mornings before school to catch episodes of Hamtaro. It was fan-freaking-tastic! :D Once Toonami had been discontinued, it felt like my childhood memories had been crushed.... Ever since then, I had been hoping it would return to Cartoon Network again.

Fast forward some years later, and Adult Swim announces that Toonami is being revived! I was a little skeptical as to why Adult Swim was the one to bring it back and not Cartoon Network, but I didn't care. I was so excited over it and I almost couldn't believe it! It just seemed too good to be true... and alas, it was. What has been "brought back" isn't the Toonami I used to know and love.... It's more like the old Adult Swim, you know, back when it mostly  consisted of anime targeted at a more mature audience with shows like Cowboy Bebop, FMA, etc. (even then, it's still not quite as good as the old lineup it had since shows like Inuyasha, Trigun, and Samurai Champloo haven't even been included) I think that's cool and all, but it's NOT Toonami. It's a farce! TT_TT Nice try, Adult Swim, but what you just did just doesn't cut it. Unless you somehow happen to bring Sailor Moon, Samurai Jack, Gundam Wing, Tenchi, and all of those other shows, and air them every morning and afternoon, you aren't worthy of the title Toonami. :P

It's Already....

The first day of June! That means my husband and I are getting closer to our leave date!!!!!

I really just wanted an excuse to post a video of this guy.... ^^; It's amazing, I've never watched the Avatar series until now, and it's so good! The Foaming Mouth Guy has to be the best minor character in the history of all minor characters. xD
