It's a Full House!

Wow, lately my husband and I have been getting people visiting us left and right. @_@ Currently, we have 5 people staying at our place, all of them my hubby's friends. Some of them will be here for a week! I'm not complaining though! It's actually really fun. ^_^ It's sweet, too, since they all want to spend more time with him before we leave for Japan. It shows that they care and it really is wonderful that he has such good friends. Everyday they have been here so far has been filled with laughter and smiles, so what more can I ask for?

It's really amazing. Honestly, I've never really had friends like that. In a way, I have to admit that I'm slightly envious of my husband. Seeing the way he is able to talk and joke around with his friends is something I wasn't really able to do with the friends I had. Though, thinking back on it, that must have been my own fault. I never was the social butterfly, and I've always held myself back out of fear of not being liked. You can't have close friends if you don't allow yourself to get close to anyone. All that does is pose as a problem.

Thankfully though, I'm not so unfortunate as to be completely alone. After all, I am married to a man who I can do anything with and confide in no matter what. In many ways, he is like a best friend. I'm really happy that I was lucky enough to have met him. ^_^ I can't imagine what would happen if he was never a part of my life, and I don't ever want to~! <3

Hell Bunny: I'm In Love!

It's official: it was love at first sight.... As soon as I saw that beautiful, blue and white pinstriped dress adorned with a bow and trimmed with lace from Hell Bunny, I knew I was a goner... I had to have it! It seemed to be the perfect dress for spring and summer, and it had a sort of lolita style feel to it (especially with the way it looked on the model, who was wearing a petticoat with it), so I just couldn't pass it up (though, I chose not to get a petticoat or anything like that. I just liked the dress itself). I placed an order for it right away, and eagerly awaited for that very dress to arrive. It just came in today, and I have to say, it is just as beautiful in person as it had looked in the pictures!

First of all, I was SO glad to see that it didn't have any loose threads hanging from it. That is such a big pet peeve of mine, and sadly when ordering clothes online, I see those a whole lot! I was happy to find that the material wasn't as light as I thought. It seems to be durable and overall, the dress seems to be well made, unlike most clothes that are sold at the mall, which always seem so flimsy and easily ruined. Another neat thing about it is that the straps on the dress are adjustable. The straps have button holes and the buttons had been securely sewn in place on the inside of the dress at the back. I had a little trouble trying to unbutton and re-button the straps, but in a way, however, I think that could be a good thing, as they won't be undone so easily while wearing the dress. Now, my biggest complaint about the dress was that when I tried it on, it was a little tight around the bust area for me, even though I ordered a large and on the size chart ( it said that a large would fit a bust size of 37"-39". Mine is 36"). Aside from that, it's a great quality dress (as it should be, considering the cost of it!).

This UK brand can count on more purchases from me! x3 A lot of their clothing is very adorable, and a lot of them have a retro/lolita/punk/goth flare. If that sounds like it's right up your style alley, then I highly recommend checking their stuff out here on their official site:

I hope you all love it as much as I do! <3

Here's a picture of the dress I bought (I had to take the picture from the site I got it from):

Annnd I will post pictures of me wearing it and what it looks like in person soon!

Nooo! Not Needles!!!!

I'm scheduled to get vaccinations next week and I'm freaking out over it. Why am I getting vaccinations? The reason is because I'll be moving to Japan with my husband for 3 years! x3 I have to get the JEV vaccination, which seems to be mandatory. There's no way around it, I can't skip out of it like I did with my flu shot last year... (horrible, I know... I really don't advise people to skip out on their shots). But, I'm so excited and I can't wait to go, so I don't mind having to suck it up for this opportunity. :P It will all be worth it in the end. :3

I've always wanted to go to Japan, as I have family there (not family I'm extremely close to, but family nonetheless) and I just really love learning about different cultures and I have always wanted to travel and see how people from different parts of the world live, but I never thought I would actually get the chance to actually experience something like this. It's like a dream!  I've lived in California all my life and have never ventured outside of it. Still, even though I am really happy and feel so lucky to be able  to finally travel somewhere and stay there for awhile, part of me can't help but feel nervous.

California has always been my home and has become something like a security blanket to me, and parting from it for so long seems crazy, especially since it also means being so far away from my mother, whom I have a very tight bond with. I've grown so accustomed to my life here. Everything here is familiar to me... It's what I'm used to. It's kind of scary going to a place that I know so little about, which in a way is sad since I should know more about the place where part of my family heritage lies. I've been working hard though to learn more about Japanese customs and etiquette... Speaking of learning, I feel so much pressure to try to learn the Japanese language and to memorize each character in their writing system (well, more like systems, since there are 3 different scripts). I've only managed to memorize a handful of the hiragana symbols so far.... I feel like I'm a child all over again trying to learn the alphabet. @_@ What makes it worse is that we have to leave for Japan in July, so I have only 3 months to learn as much as I can.

I hope that I'm just worrying too much and stressing for nothing. Maybe I don't have to rush myself or push myself so hard. In fact, it may be better for me to take my time. Who knows? Maybe living there will be the best way for me to pick up the language and culture than looking at flash card after flash card and trying to learn random phrases here and there or trying to google everything. I need to remain positive!

Sketches!!!!!

Some anime/manga/video game character sketches I did:

Soul Eater

Yami no Matsuei

Unfinished Chrono

Chibi Ed and Al

Videl

More About Myself...

So I just now thought about it.... I probably should give a little more background about who I am and what I'm like. If you hadn't read my "About Me" section already, my name is Desirae. I'll be turning 21 on May 14th (I'm a taurus!) and I'm married to a wonderful man who is in the army. We've been married for almost a whole year now, but have been dating for 2 years prior to our marriage. :D He's been my first everything, and I feel lucky since most people don't find their true love on their first try. Together, we both have 8 kids (2 cats, 3 guinea pigs, 2 rabbits, and a tarantula). We are expecting 3 more additions to the family (we're planning on getting a welsh corgi and golden retriever, as well as a teacup pig). As you may see, we're definitely animal lovers! He and I both share the same geeky interests, too, such as video games, anime, and manga, so we have plenty of activities that we enjoy doing together. Apart from that, I also really love cooking, baking, writing stories, doing tarot readings, drawing (I'll post some later ^_^), fashion, and makeup! I'm also learning how to read runes, too.

As far as my personality goes, I'm  really shy and quiet and I don't really talk much. Usually, people often think that I'm stuck up because of that (I'm not, really, I promise! TT_TT). That tends to make it really difficult for me to make friends, but I figure that if someone wants to be my friend, they won't make negative assumptions about me right away and would try to find out more about me. I have to admit though, I do enjoy surprising people who originally didn't like me because they thought I was a snob and proving them otherwise. xD The reactions are pretty funny sometimes, especially when I start opening up to them more. That's when they start finding out that I'm a cheerful, hyper, bubbly dork (I'm sure all of you will find that out if you decide to stick around to read more of my posts). It just goes to show you that you can't judge a book by it's cover. Remember that! (I know, such an overused saying, but even though people see/hear it all the time, there aren't many who follow it).

I think that pretty much is it for now! Thank you for reading~!

P.S. Can you tell what ethnicity I am? I bet you can't~! ;)

ANSWER:

I'm part Japanese, Filipina, Spanish, French, Italian, and Portuguese!

I'm all mixed up! Lols!

Hello!

Hi, everyone! This is my very first post here. I've never really blogged about anything before, and I had no idea what to blog about, but I thought I would try it out and just write about anything and everything that came to my mind! ^_^

Lately, I've been thinking about and craving two things: pie and pancakes. I don't know if it's just me, but I get random cravings at least once a week, and they only go away once the craving has been satisfied, but then it is soon replaced by a new craving. I've been going crazy for a few days now for pie and pancakes. I have no idea why, but I simply must have both together! All flavors sound amazing to me as of right now... This is truly troublesome, especially since I've been on a diet in this past month of eating nothing but healthy foods such as baby carrots, oranges, grapes, baked chicken, fish.... I'm sure you get the idea. I've even replaced my wonderful 2% milk with almond milk. Almond milk is delicious, but sometimes I just miss regular milk with all of it's fattening goodness. I can't complain too much though, as I've been losing weight (yay!) and making a lot of progress. I've been ecstatic over that since my weight just wouldn't budge for the longest time. @_@

Anyways, I allow myself to splurge a bit over the weekend, so maybe I'll just have to head over to Coco's and end my craving once and for all, especially since it's so bad, that I've resorted to googling PICTURES of pie and pancakes! Isn't that sad...?  But you have to admit, these look soooo good!

Mmm~! Pecan pie! One of my favorites!

Hello Kitty! I had no idea that pancakes could be that cute!

This looks like a sugar overload! :O

Alright, I'll stop there with the pictures. I bet those of you who are reading this are probably hungry by now. I know I am!
